In general, try to shop at stores on the side streets, opposed to the ones on the Avenues. Side street shops have lower rents, therefore they don’t have to charge exorbitant prices to recoup their losses.

Question: Do the side streets typically carry name brand clothing?

That was such a Not-So-Native question it’s not even funny (*NYC hug* lol)
Clothing quality/brand is defined by the store, owner and landlord, regardless of its backstreet/frontstreet status…
*Dollar Store on the Ave * Juicy Couture in the Alley* LOL
A lot of times people prefer to have their stores on the sidestreets, it’s cheaper for them and the get to focus more on the product..
Frontstreeters sometimes have to skimp on the product b/c they gotta pay the rent..
