Washington Heights.1

Spanish RestaurantNothing compares to being able to order Media Pollo, Arroz con Pollo, Cuchifrito, Mangu, and Platano Mas Duro at 3 o’clock in the morning-and they might even deliver, depending on how hood the place really is. Beef Patties and the “Big Azz” cheeseburgers from the bodegas don’t always cut it when you’re stumbling home after “Drunken Salsa Night” at Latin Quarter. The entire strip around the GWB Bus Terminal is open way late on the weekends. [pictured] I stumbled into that restaurant one night (the birds were already chirping) muttered something in horrible Spanglish and dropped a ten-spot on the counter. I can’t remember what I got, but it was the best thing ever.
